Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its Employment & Trade Secret group in Washington, DC. The work combines management-side litigation with practical, day-to-day counseling for fast-growing technology companies, including weekly in-person attendance at the D.C. office.

The Work

  • Litigate management-side employment matters, including disputes involving covenants not to compete and trade secrets.
  • Provide day-to-day employment advice to fast-growing technology companies on terminations, leaves of absence, internal investigations, and reductions in force.
  • Review and draft employment policies tailored to clients’ workplace needs.
  • Advise on employment-related issues arising in mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
  • Work across disputes and counseling matters, helping clients address employment concerns as they arise and as their businesses grow.

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in management-side employment law litigation and counseling.
  • Experience litigating employment law cases, including matters involving covenants not to compete and trade secret disputes.
  • Experience advising on day-to-day employment issues, such as terminations, leaves, investigations, and reductions in force.
  • Ability to review and draft employment policies and advise on employment matters in corporate transactions.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Membership in the Washington, D.C. Bar is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $235,000–$365,000, based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
