Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to advise healthcare and life sciences businesses and investors on reimbursement questions and the regulatory dimensions of important corporate transactions. The Los Angeles role offers a mix of practical counseling, diligence, documentation, and negotiation involving established and emerging products and services.
The Work
- Counsel clients on reimbursement compliance and coding, coverage, and payment for novel healthcare products and services, helping them assess regulatory requirements and develop practical strategies.
- Conduct healthcare regulatory due diligence for emerging-company investments, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, capital-markets matters, and other corporate deals; identify and prioritize material regulatory risks.
- Contribute to deal documentation and negotiations, coordinating with corporate colleagues and clients to address regulatory findings and support transaction objectives.
- Advise healthcare providers, life sciences companies, digital health and technology businesses, and investors on regulatory issues affecting their operations and transactions.
- Support matters involving fraud-and-abuse counseling and compliance, including compliance programs, audits, investigations, and government enforcement when relevant to client needs.
- Work on regulatory aspects of IPOs, securities offerings, joint ventures, affiliations, financings, and venture-capital investments.
What You Bring
- At least three years of healthcare regulatory legal experience.
- Experience advising on healthcare reimbursement, including reimbursement compliance and coding, coverage, and payment for novel products and services.
- Experience with transactional due diligence, deal documentation, and negotiation in emerging-company, private equity, M&A, capital-markets, or similar matters.
- Strong analytical and legal writing skills, with the ability to assess regulatory issues and communicate practical conclusions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with corporate teams and engage constructively with clients in a dynamic, fast-paced practice.
- Fraud-and-abuse counseling and compliance experience is preferred.
