Position overview

Our client is seeking a Tax Associate with 1–4 years of experience to join a growing tax team in New York City. The opportunity is suited to an associate with a sound technical foundation in tax law, strong research skills, and a particular interest in real estate matters, including REITs.

The Work

  • Research and analyze tax law questions arising in real estate matters, applying technical knowledge appropriate to your level of experience.
  • Contribute to tax work involving REITs, developing familiarity with the tax issues relevant to these structures.
  • Assess complex or novel tax questions and help develop thoughtful, well-supported analyses.
  • Prepare clear written work product that communicates tax research and analysis effectively.
  • Use sound judgment and oral communication skills in addressing assignments and discussing analytical conclusions.

What You Bring

  • 1–4 years of associate-level experience; candidates in law school class years 2022 and above are considered.
  • A technical understanding of tax law appropriate to experience level.
  • Strong legal research abilities, particularly for tax questions.
  • Experience with real estate matters and a keen interest in real estate-related tax work, including REITs.
  • Outstanding writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to approach difficult or novel problems creatively.
  • Top academic credentials.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $260,000–$420,000, with the amount offered depending on qualifications and operational considerations.
