Position overview

Our client is seeking a Tax (Real Estate) Associate to join its growing tax team in Dallas. This opportunity is intended for attorneys with 1–4 years of experience, including law school class years 2022 and above, who have a class-year-appropriate foundation in tax law and a strong interest in real estate matters, including REITs.

The Work

  • Research and analyze tax-law questions appropriate to your experience level, applying technical knowledge to real estate-related matters.
  • Work on matters involving real estate, including REITs, and build experience in the tax considerations relevant to these areas.
  • Develop clear written analysis that addresses complex tax questions and communicates the reasoning behind potential approaches.
  • Apply creative, careful analysis to difficult and sometimes novel legal problems, with responsibility appropriate to your experience.

What You Bring

  • 1–4 years of legal experience; law school class years 2022 and above are encouraged to apply.
  • Class-year-appropriate understanding of technical tax-law principles.
  • Experience with real estate matters and a keen interest in the area, including REITs.
  • Strong legal research ability and capacity to analyze complex tax issues.
  • Outstanding writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability and desire to think creatively about difficult and novel problems.
  • Top academic credentials.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $260,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.
