Our client is seeking a Tax (Real Estate) Associate to join a prestigious and growing tax team in Houston. The opportunity is intended for associates with approximately 1–4 years of experience, including candidates from law school class years 2022 and above, who have a technical foundation in tax law and a genuine interest in real estate matters, including REITs.
The Work
- Research technical tax-law questions and apply class-year-appropriate tax knowledge to real estate matters.
- Analyze tax issues arising in real estate matters, including matters involving REITs.
- Develop thoughtful, creative approaches to difficult and often novel tax problems.
- Bring careful analytical judgment to questions requiring technical tax research and reasoned evaluation.
- Communicate tax research and analysis through clear, polished written work and effective oral communication.
What You Bring
- Approximately 1–4 years of experience; candidates from law school class years 2022 and above are encouraged to be considered.
- Class-year-appropriate understanding of technical aspects of tax law.
- Strong legal research ability, particularly in addressing technical tax questions.
- Experience with and a keen interest in real estate matters, including REITs.
- Outstanding legal writing and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, top academic credentials, and the ability and desire to think creatively about difficult and novel problems.

Compensation & Benefits
The firm-stated annual compensation range is $260,000–$420,000, with placement dependent on qualifications and operational considerations.
