Position overview

Our client is seeking a Tax Associate with 4–8 years of tax experience to join a national transactional tax practice in Palo Alto. The team advises technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises at all stages of development on federal tax matters.

The Work

  • Support clients on federal tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, contributing to transactional analysis and advice for companies at varied stages of growth.
  • Work on capital markets and corporate finance matters, including tax considerations related to equity financings.
  • Assist clients with technology transfers, complex licensing arrangements, and collaborations, coordinating across relevant practice areas as needed.
  • Contribute to domestic and international tax planning for technology, life sciences, and other growth enterprises.
  • Work with colleagues across departments to support clients on matters that intersect with multiple areas of a growing business.
  • Develop client relationships and build a broad transactional tax practice through exposure to companies at different stages of development.

What You Bring

  • Four to eight years of tax experience.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability in transactional tax and federal tax matters.
  • Mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and corporate finance experience is preferred.
  • Experience assisting with equity financings, technology transfers, complex licensing, or collaboration arrangements is valued.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international tax planning is preferred.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $310,000–$435,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
