Position overview

Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to support a collaborative litigation team in a remote role, handling high-volume subpoena and litigation response work for institutional clients. The schedule is designed around West Coast business hours, with full-time hours averaging 30–35 per week.

The Work

  • Manage multiple subpoena and litigation-response matters at once, organizing workstreams and competing deadlines across a high-volume docket.
  • Respond to and negotiate third-party subpoenas, applying sound judgment to advance each matter and meet defined client objectives.
  • Prepare clear, accurate litigation responses and other written work product with limited supervision and direction.
  • Communicate with clients about deadlines and matter status, delivering responsive service and building effective working relationships.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to move discrete litigation assignments forward efficiently, including when turnaround times are short.
  • Support institutional clients on both programmatic legal matters and strategic, complex litigation; experience involving technology, ecommerce, consumer-facing businesses, or retail is especially relevant.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of litigation experience at a mid-sized or large law firm and/or representing large institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated experience responding to and negotiating third-party subpoenas.
  • Experience managing high-volume matters, with the judgment to balance recurring work and strategic, complex litigation.
  • Strong legal drafting, written and oral advocacy, and communication skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and case-management abilities, including confidence managing competing deadlines and communicating them to clients.
  • Strong negotiation, client-service, and relationship-building skills; able to work independently while collaborating effectively with lawyers and support staff.
  • Must reside in and hold active bar admission in an eligible jurisdiction—AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA (jurisdiction-specific), TN, TX, VA, WA, WDC, or WV—and be admitted in a state where the firm maintains an office.
  • Able to work remotely during West Coast business hours and average 30–35 hours weekly, with flexibility to increase hours as needed.
