Position overview

Our client is seeking a mid-level to senior associate with 4–5 years of experience to join a growing Asset-Based Finance and Securitization Practice in Chicago. The role offers substantial transaction work and the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility on a strategically important team.

The Work

  • Structure and execute traditional and bespoke asset-based financings and securitizations for private credit and other investors.
  • Advise originators and issuers on accessing private capital through securitizations, warehouse financings, and whole loan sales.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents and take an active role in managing deal processes and workstreams.
  • Work on transactions involving consumer, commercial, infrastructure, hard-asset, and esoteric asset classes.
  • Contribute to matters involving ABS, CLOs, CFOs, and rated facilities, as appropriate to the transaction and the associate’s experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across fund finance, special situations, investment management, and private equity on complex structures.
  • Help address structuring, regulatory, tax, and governance considerations as part of an interdisciplinary capital solutions team.

What You Bring

  • Four to five years of substantive experience in structured finance, securitization, and/or asset-based structured finance.
  • Experience as a key member of deal teams, including responsibility for transaction document drafting and transaction management.
  • Experience with ABS, CLOs, CFOs, and/or rated facilities is preferred.
  • Exposure to fund finance, special situation financings, out-of-court or in-court restructurings, and/or private credit transactions is helpful.
  • Strong ability to manage transaction workstreams and contribute to client matters with increasing independence.
  • Self-starter with the drive to achieve results for clients and take on increasing responsibility.
  • Admission to, and good standing with, the bar of the state in which you intend to practice.
  • Availability to work in person is required.
