The Work

  • Manage litigation tasks in class action and single-plaintiff employment cases, including legal research, drafting, and other case-related work.
  • Work on wage-and-hour disputes involving alleged meal and rest period violations, unpaid wages or bonuses, off-the-clock work, and worker misclassification.
  • Handle matters involving PAGA claims and class or collective actions, as well as allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
  • Provide day-to-day advice and counsel to clients on California employment issues and related state and federal requirements.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, termination, severance, and related agreements, and advise on reductions in force.
  • Counsel on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, employee policies and training, and leave practices.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of labor and employment experience, including both litigation and advice and counsel work.
  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including the California Labor Code, wage-and-hour requirements, and discrimination laws.
  • Experience with employment litigation in state and federal court and before agencies.
  • Experience defending class and collective actions and PAGA claims.
  • Trial experience and the ability to conduct legal research and produce clear, persuasive written work.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with sound professional judgment.
