Position overview

Join a Washington, DC-based team advising financial institutions and fintech clients on complex regulatory, transactional, litigation, and legislative matters. This role offers broad exposure to issues shaping the financial services industry, from licensing and investigations to enforcement and cryptocurrency.

The Work

  • Advise financial institution and fintech clients on complex regulatory issues affecting the financial services industry.
  • Contribute to transactional matters for financial services clients, working across a broad range of regulatory and deal-related questions.
  • Work on chartering and licensing matters, helping clients address requirements for establishing or operating financial institutions.
  • Assist with investigations and administrative enforcement actions involving financial services matters.
  • Represent clients in legislative matters related to the financial services industry.
  • Engage with matters involving bank regulation, anti-money laundering, consumer protection, fintech, and cryptocurrency.

What You Bring

  • Three to six years of relevant legal experience and a demonstrated interest in financial services matters.
  • Experience or a sustained interest in one or more of the following areas: bank regulatory, anti-money laundering, consumer protection, fintech, chartering, or cryptocurrency.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references.
  • Currently licensed, or currently eligible for licensure, to practice law in Washington, DC.
  • Experience representing clients before or working at the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, FinCEN, or state banking agencies is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated Washington, DC salary range is $235,000–$365,000, commensurate with experience, with eligibility for an hours-based bonus.
