Position overview

A private wealth practice in Richmond is seeking an experienced attorney to advise individuals and closely held businesses on the wealth, tax and fiduciary matters that shape long-term plans. This Counsel role offers meaningful client-facing advisory work across estate and succession planning.

The Work

  • Advise individuals and closely held businesses on wealth, tax and fiduciary matters, helping clients navigate issues that affect personal and business interests.
  • Counsel clients on estate planning approaches designed to support their short- and long-term goals.
  • Guide succession planning for individuals and closely held businesses, addressing continuity and long-range objectives.
  • Consider related tax and fiduciary concerns as part of a broad advisory approach to clients’ wealth and planning needs.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their circumstances and provide advice responsive to their objectives.

What You Bring

  • Three to six years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience advising on private wealth matters for individuals, closely held businesses, or both.
  • Knowledge of estate planning and succession planning considerations.
  • Ability to advise on tax and fiduciary matters affecting clients’ wealth and planning objectives.
  • Strong client-service skills and the ability to understand and respond to clients’ short- and long-term goals.
