Our client is seeking an associate to advise on the data, privacy, and cybersecurity questions shaping corporate and commercial transactions. Working alongside transactional teams, you will help companies and deal teams navigate evolving risks across AI, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
The Work
- Advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions.
- Work alongside corporate and transactional teams to identify and assess data-related risks within live deals.
- Shape data provisions in transaction documents, including terms addressing data use, control, and related risk allocation.
- Translate fast-moving regulatory developments into clear, practical guidance for clients and deal teams.
- Support matters involving companies building in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
- Help clients and colleagues evaluate how data moves through a business and what may happen if a privacy or cybersecurity issue arises.
What You Bring
- One to three years of legal experience, with meaningful transactional exposure.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, or technology transactions.
- Ability to assess privacy and data issues in the context of a live transaction.
- Strong legal analysis and judgment, with the ability to communicate complex or evolving issues clearly.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
- Regulatory policy or enforcement experience and a CIPP certification are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000, based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses possible.
