Position overview

Join a life sciences-focused transactional practice in Redwood City advising companies and investors on commercial arrangements that support the development and commercialization of innovative products. This opportunity is for a corporate associate with at least three years of life sciences licensing experience and strong drafting and negotiation skills.

The Work

  • Draft and negotiate technology-based commercial agreements for life sciences companies and their investors, contributing to transactions from initial structuring through final documentation.
  • Advise on intellectual property and technology licensing matters, addressing the legal and business considerations involved in commercializing life sciences products.
  • Work on strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other complex collaborations, helping develop solutions to challenging deal issues.
  • Support a range of transactions, from vendor agreements to sophisticated alliances, tailoring contract terms to the parties’ commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients and deal teams across the life sciences transaction spectrum, applying industry and technical context to licensing and collaboration arrangements.

What You Bring

  • At least three years of experience handling life sciences licensing matters.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, including experience with commercial agreements.
  • Knowledge of technology-based commercial transactions in the life sciences sector.
  • Ability to work through complex legal and business issues in licensing, collaboration, and strategic transaction contexts.
  • A degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field, or experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, is preferred.
