Our client is seeking an experienced registered funds attorney to lead knowledge strategy and improve how legal teams access, maintain, and apply reliable guidance. This New York City role blends deep regulatory knowledge with practical resource development, workflow improvement, and responsible use of legal technology.
The Work
- Lead the registered funds knowledge strategy in coordination with practice leadership and related asset management teams, identifying priorities and developing practical solutions.
- Create, maintain, and improve model documents, precedents, forms, checklists, practice notes, training materials, and other resources used in registered funds matters.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and market developments affecting funds and advisers, and turn their practical implications into timely updates to tools, workflows, and guidance.
- Work with partners, counsel, associates, and professional staff across offices to identify workflow gaps, strengthen access to knowledge, and promote consistent document and matter-knowledge practices.
- Support responsible use of legal technology and artificial intelligence by helping lawyers assess use cases, improve workflows, protect confidentiality, and verify outputs using independent legal judgment.
- Evaluate third-party legal, regulatory, and market resources and recommend tools that strengthen the practice’s ability to provide current and efficient advice.
- Develop and deliver training on registered funds topics, practice resources, market developments, technology, and efficient work practices; contribute to client-facing materials and selected legal work product.
What You Bring
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to the relevant bar.
- More than five years of relevant registered funds experience; experience in a global or large law firm is preferred, and comparable in-house experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for registered investment companies and investment advisers, including formation, registration, disclosure, governance, compliance, board matters, filings, and ongoing operations.
- Ability to draft, review, and maintain high-quality registered funds materials, including registration statements, board materials, compliance policies, investor disclosures, and service-provider agreements.
- Experience tracking legal and market developments and translating them into practical guidance, training, and resources for lawyers and clients.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly and ethically, including assessing appropriate use cases, protecting confidentiality, verifying outputs, and applying sound legal judgment.
- Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills, with strong project management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to build trust and collaborate with lawyers and professional staff across offices and practices, and an interest in innovation and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $275,000–$375,000, and the position is eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
