Our client is seeking a mid-level associate to work at the intersection of sophisticated financial products and evolving market regulation. The New York-based practice advises investment managers, financial institutions, and emerging companies on transactional commodities, futures, and derivatives matters, alongside related regulatory issues.
The Work
- Structure, document, and negotiate derivatives transactions involving commodities, interest rate swaps, foreign exchange, and credit derivatives.
- Advise on futures matters and financial products connected to FinTech and crypto trading.
- Work with investment managers, financial institutions, and emerging companies on transactional and regulatory matters.
- Apply Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC regulations to transactions and client questions involving financial products and trading activity.
- Contribute to matters that combine commercial objectives with the legal and regulatory considerations affecting derivatives and related products.
What You Bring
- At least three years of relevant experience, with a background consistent with the mid-level associate class.
- Experience covering a mix of transactional commodities, futures, and derivatives matters.
- Knowledge of Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC regulatory frameworks relevant to the practice.
- Experience or familiarity with derivatives transactions involving interest rate swaps, foreign exchange, or credit products.
- Ability to work on matters involving financial institutions, investment managers, or emerging companies.
- Candidates with transactional experience who are motivated to expand their skills are encouraged to apply.
