Our client is seeking a Charlotte-based associate with 3–6 years of experience for a sophisticated practice where employment law, executive mobility, and corporate dealmaking intersect. This opportunity involves high-stakes workforce matters that can affect enterprise value, leadership stability, and post-closing integration.
The Work
- Support labor and employment diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity investments, helping deal teams assess workforce issues that may affect transaction value and risk allocation.
- Draft and negotiate executive employment agreements, separation arrangements, and restrictive covenant agreements for corporate clients and their leadership.
- Advise on executive mobility, including the structuring and enforceability of non-competition and non-solicitation obligations.
- Work with corporate deal teams and private equity sponsors on employment matters arising during transactions and on sensitive personnel issues that emerge after closing.
- Support post-transaction workforce integration, including executive transitions and other sensitive personnel matters.
- Partner with senior executives and corporate leadership on personnel and governance matters requiring discretion and strategic judgment.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of experience in labor and employment matters involving corporate transactions or related strategic advisory work.
- Experience supporting employment diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or private equity investments.
- Ability to draft and negotiate executive employment agreements, separation arrangements, and restrictive covenant agreements.
- Knowledge of executive mobility issues, including non-competition and non-solicitation obligations.
- Strong judgment and discretion when advising on sensitive personnel, leadership, and governance issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with corporate deal teams, private equity sponsors, clients, and senior leadership in a fast-moving environment.
