Position overview

Our client is seeking an experienced litigator to help manage institutional-client matters involving third-party subpoenas and litigation responses. This remote opportunity is connected to Seattle, calls for West Coast business-hour availability, and combines steady, high-volume work with support for complex strategic litigation.

The Work

  • Manage a high volume of third-party subpoena requests and litigation responses for institutional clients, maintaining ownership of each matter through its required response steps.
  • Review, prepare, and negotiate responses to third-party subpoenas, applying sound judgment to deadlines, scope, and client needs.
  • Track multiple matters with competing deadlines and communicate promptly with clients about timing, status, and requirements.
  • Work closely with attorneys and support staff to meet discrete litigation objectives on short timelines, producing careful work with limited supervision.
  • Support both scalable, programmatic legal work and high-impact strategic complex litigation for large institutional clients.
  • Contribute to matters involving technology companies, including ecommerce, consumer-facing businesses, and retail.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of litigation experience in a mid-sized or large law firm and/or representing large institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated experience responding to and negotiating third-party subpoenas.
  • Experience across litigation phases, with the ability to handle both high-volume programmatic matters and complex strategic litigation.
  • Strong legal drafting, written and oral advocacy, and communication skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization, case management, deadline management, responsiveness, and client-service skills; able to work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Residency and active bar admission in an eligible jurisdiction—AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA (jurisdiction-specific), TN, TX, VA, WA, Washington, D.C., or WV—and active admission in a state where the client maintains an office.
  • Availability to work remotely for an average of 30–35 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to as many as 40 hours as needed, and to primarily support West Coast hours.
