Our client is seeking an associate with approximately three years of experience to join its Palo Alto intellectual property litigation team. The work centers on complex technology disputes, including emerging questions at the intersection of intellectual property and artificial intelligence where legal precedent is still developing.
The Work
- Contribute to patent and general intellectual property litigation involving complex technology disputes and high-stakes issues for sophisticated technology clients.
- Help assess and navigate novel legal questions in emerging areas of intellectual property and artificial intelligence where precedent is still developing.
- Engage directly with sophisticated technology clients, communicating clearly about matters and issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice areas to advance complex disputes.
- Participate in matters that call for both strong litigation experience and the ability to understand technical subject matter.
What You Bring
- Approximately three years of experience, with strong patent and/or general intellectual property litigation experience.
- Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or physics.
- Familiarity with complex technology disputes and interest or experience in issues at the intersection of intellectual property and artificial intelligence.
- Ability to navigate novel legal questions where precedent is developing.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
- Active membership in the California bar.
- High academic achievement and experience at a peer firm are preferred.
- U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated starting base salary range is $260,000-$310,000, and the role may be eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
