Position overview

Our client is seeking a Class of 2027 associate to join its Houston tax practice in Fall 2027. The role offers involvement in significant tax issues arising in corporate transactions and disputes, with collaboration across practices to develop solutions tailored to client needs.

The Work

  • Assist with tax issues arising in corporate transactions, contributing to analysis and the development of client-specific approaches.
  • Work on disputes with taxing authorities, supporting the team's handling of tax matters that require careful analysis and practical solutions.
  • Help address intricate tax issues across a broad range of matters, applying tax-law knowledge to the specific needs of each client.
  • Coordinate with lawyers in other disciplines as part of an integrated, one-team approach to client matters.
  • Gain exposure to tax matters involving clients across industries through a practice with extensive experience in different types of tax issues.

What You Bring

  • Be a member of the Class of 2027 for an associate position beginning in Fall 2027.
  • Demonstrate an interest in tax law and significant tax issues arising in legal matters.
  • Be prepared to contribute to the analysis of tax issues in corporate transactions.
  • Be prepared to work on tax disputes involving taxing authorities.
  • Bring strong analytical skills and the ability to help develop creative, client-focused solutions.
  • Be ready to collaborate with lawyers across practice areas on matters involving complex tax considerations.
