A collaborative employment litigation team is seeking an experienced California litigator to take on complex employer-side disputes, guide case strategy, and build trusted client relationships. This San Francisco opportunity offers substantial responsibility across class and representative actions and other significant workplace claims.
The Work
- Manage and support employment litigation through all phases in state and federal courts, with a primary focus on complex wage-and-hour class actions and PAGA representative actions.
- Develop litigation strategy, assess exposure, and advise employer clients on practical approaches to litigation and settlement.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to compel arbitration, class certification motions, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
- Take and defend depositions of named plaintiffs, percipient witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts, and handle court appearances.
- Oversee written discovery, document review, and case management in complex litigation matters.
- Represent clients in mediations, settlement negotiations, and arbitrations, while collaborating with them on California employment counseling, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Work closely with partners and litigation teams on sophisticated matters, mentor junior associates, and contribute to client relationships and business development.
What You Bring
- Five or more years of employment litigation experience, including significant work on wage-and-hour class actions and PAGA matters.
- Admission to practice law in California and a JD from an accredited law school.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and class action procedure.
- Experience managing complex litigation and interacting directly with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to take and defend depositions and handle court appearances independently.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organization and case-management abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Prior law firm experience preferred, with a commitment to client service, collaboration, and professional excellence.

Compensation & Benefits
