Position overview

Our client is seeking a 3rd- through 6th-year associate to join its Redwood City corporate practice, working on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions for sponsors, portfolio companies, and a diversified corporate client base. The work ranges from routine engagements to complex, transformational deals.

The Work

  • Support private equity clients and portfolio companies across transactions from initial investment through exit, helping advance their commercial and strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to M&A engagements that range from routine transactions to complex, transformational matters for a diversified client base.
  • Work on sophisticated transaction types that may include cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spin-offs, and multi-billion-dollar going-private transactions.
  • Assist deal teams addressing shareholder activism, antitrust challenges, and changing regulatory requirements that affect transaction execution.
  • Work within a broader advisory platform that can draw on board counseling, capital markets, leveraged finance, tax, fund formation, and private equity finance capabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams assembled around client needs, including matters involving global reach and industry-specific experience.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
  • Experience appropriate to consideration for the 3rd- through 6th-year associate class.
  • A foundation in advising on M&A engagements, including transaction work for corporate clients.
  • Familiarity with private equity transactions across the investment lifecycle, from initial investment through exit.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability working on complex transactions, including cross-border matters, carve-outs, spin-offs, or going-private transactions, is relevant to the practice.
