Position overview

Our client is seeking an experienced attorney for a Washington, D.C. practice focused on international trade. The opportunity centers on substantial work across customs, trade policy, trade law, and trade remedies, with the possibility of contributing to related national security matters as team needs arise.

The Work

  • Contribute to international trade work involving customs, applying substantial subject-matter experience to matters in this core practice area.
  • Work on trade policy and trade law matters, bringing careful legal analysis and strong writing to complex issues.
  • Support trade remedies work as part of a practice with a broad international trade focus.
  • Where team needs call for it, contribute to additional national security work involving export controls, sanctions, and CFIUS.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of relevant legal experience; the position is geared toward attorneys with approximately 5–10 years of experience.
  • Substantial experience in international trade, including customs, trade policy, trade law, and trade remedies.
  • Excellent legal writing skills.
  • High academic achievement.
  • Openness to contributing to other areas of national security work, including export controls, sanctions, and CFIUS.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected starting base salary is $365,000–$420,000 annually, with actual salary determined by relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors; the position may also be eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
