Our client is seeking a midlevel associate to advise government contractors, grant recipients, and Alaska Native Corporation enterprises on the full lifecycle of federal funding. The practice combines regulatory counseling, investigations, transactional support, and advocacy in significant procurement and grant disputes.
The Work
- Counsel contractors and grant recipients on federal procurement requirements, including the FAR, DFARS, and agency supplements, and advise on regulatory and compliance issues.
- Represent clients in bid protests, contract claims, and disputes before the Government Accountability Office, the Court of Federal Claims, Boards of Contract Appeals, and other tribunals.
- Handle False Claims Act matters involving federal procurement and grant funding, including investigations, qui tam actions, civil litigation, and related compliance and enforcement proceedings.
- Conduct internal investigations and compliance reviews involving the use of federal funds, and assist with Inspector General inquiries, agency oversight, audit findings, and potential suspension or debarment.
- Advise clients on grants and cooperative agreements from proposal strategy and award negotiation through post-award administration, cost allowability, audit response, and closeout.
- Support M&A due diligence and transactional matters involving government contracts, federal grant funding, and Alaska Native Corporation subsidiaries.
- Advise Alaska Native Corporation and other small-business clients on SBA 8(a) participation, eligibility, affiliation, sole-source and competitive procurements, joint ventures, and mentor-protégé relationships.
- Work on federal construction contracting matters, including contract administration and claims involving delay, disruption, differing site conditions, changes, termination, and prevailing wage requirements.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of experience in government contracts and/or federal grants counseling, investigations, or litigation.
- Experience advising on federal procurement or federal financial assistance programs.
- Familiarity with the FAR, DFARS, federal procurement processes, and Uniform Guidance under 2 C.F.R.
- Part 200.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop clear advice and effective advocacy.
- Experience with or exposure to SBA small-business programs, including the 8(a) Business Development Program, mentor-protégé arrangements, or joint ventures.
- Excellent academic credentials and admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of practice, or the ability to obtain admission promptly.
- Experience with Alaska Native Corporations, tribal or Native-owned businesses, grants compliance, federal audits, OIG inquiries, or federal-funding enforcement is helpful.
- Exposure to the GAO, Court of Federal Claims, Boards of Contract Appeals, government service, procurement-related clerkships, or federal construction claims is valued.

Compensation & Benefits
The firm-stated annual salary range is $147,000–$325,000, with actual pay adjusted for job-related factors; eligible full-time employees may have access to benefits and an annual discretionary bonus.
