Position overview

Our client is seeking an attorney with 1–7 years of experience to advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues within corporate and technology transactions in Palo Alto. The role offers exposure to private and public companies across innovative technology sectors and a broad range of strategic matters.

The Work

  • Advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity considerations in mergers and acquisitions, including the issues that arise as companies evaluate and execute transactions.
  • Support public offerings by counseling on transactional privacy and data-related matters relevant to corporate clients.
  • Work on commercial and strategic transactions, applying privacy and cybersecurity knowledge to the business objectives and deal context.
  • Counsel private and public companies of varying sizes across artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
  • Contribute to matters spanning corporate and technology transactions, with the opportunity to engage with clients on a broad range of transactional privacy issues.

What You Bring

  • 1–7 years of legal experience, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, technology transactions, or other transactional work required.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and superior academic credentials.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues in a transactional context.
  • Experience in technology industries is desirable.
  • Experience with regulatory policy and enforcement is desirable.
  • CIPP certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated base salary range is $225,000–$420,000, based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses potentially available.
