Our client is seeking an associate with at least four years of experience to work on complex merger reviews and regulatory clearance matters in Costa Mesa. The role offers substantial responsibility across domestic and cross-border transactions, with close coordination among clients, economists, and deal teams.
The Work
- Manage significant aspects of antitrust review processes for complex domestic and cross-border transactions, from initial filings through agency review.
- Prepare and support Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and help guide matters through the regulatory clearance process.
- Handle Second Requests, including coordinating and overseeing document productions in response to agency demands.
- Participate in merger investigations, helping develop and execute the response to regulatory scrutiny.
- Coordinate with clients, economists, and deal teams to advance matters and address issues arising during agency review.
- Contribute to merger clearance work involving U.S. agencies and, as matters require, proceedings before European Commission and EU Member State authorities.
What You Bring
- At least four years of legal experience, with substantial experience in antitrust merger control.
- Experience preparing Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and managing related review processes.
- Experience handling Second Requests and coordinating document productions.
- Experience with merger investigations and agency review of transactions.
- Ability to manage significant parts of complex antitrust reviews with sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with clients, economists, and deal teams on domestic and cross-border matters.

Compensation & Benefits
