Our client is seeking a Seattle associate with 1–3 years of experience to advise on data-related issues at the center of major corporate and commercial transactions. Working alongside corporate and transactional teams, you will help clients and deal teams assess how data is used, controlled, and protected as companies raise capital, pursue acquisitions, and execute strategic plans.
The Work
- Advise on privacy, data-processing, and cybersecurity issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and commercial and strategic transactions.
- Shape data-related provisions in transaction documents and help deal teams address allocation of risks involving data use, control, and potential incidents.
- Identify and assess privacy and cybersecurity risks in the context of live transactions, providing practical guidance as the deal develops.
- Translate evolving regulatory issues into clear advice for clients and corporate and transactional colleagues.
- Work with companies in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech, including businesses raising capital, being acquired, or pursuing public offerings.
What You Bring
- One to three years of legal experience, with meaningful exposure to transactional work.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, or technology transactions.
- Ability to assess how privacy, data-processing, or cybersecurity issues affect a live transaction.
- Strong legal writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear, practical guidance.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
- Regulatory policy or enforcement experience is a plus.
- CIPP certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
