Position overview

Our client is seeking a corporate associate with 4–8 years of experience to advise healthcare and life sciences organizations on the regulatory, privacy, and AI questions shaping digital health. Based in Redwood City, this role combines counseling and transactional work within a cross-disciplinary healthcare and life sciences practice.

The Work

  • Advise healthcare providers, digital health and technology companies, and other organizations on healthcare regulatory, data protection, and AI-related matters.
  • Counsel clients on complex and evolving frameworks, including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging AI laws.
  • Address healthcare fraud and abuse issues, including matters involving the Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Support transactions involving healthcare and life sciences clients, integrating privacy and regulatory considerations into the advice provided.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, proactively move matters forward, and take ownership of work with minimal supervision.
  • Work across a practice serving companies at different stages of development and in sectors including healthcare services, biotechnology, and medtech.

What You Bring

  • Four to eight years of relevant experience, including advising companies operating in the digital health space.
  • Experience counseling on healthcare regulatory matters and data protection or privacy issues.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, evolving AI laws, and healthcare fraud and abuse laws such as Stark and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers, digital health or technology companies, or other organizations in the sector.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage concurrent matters and deadlines and drive work forward proactively with limited supervision.
  • Law firm experience and a record of high academic achievement.
