Position overview

Our client is seeking a Secondaries Associate with 3–8 years of experience to join its highly regarded practice in New York City. The work encompasses a broad range of LP-led and GP-led transactions, with opportunities for meaningful client interaction and training directly from leading practitioners on cutting-edge matters.

The Work

  • Work on LP-led portfolio sales, contributing to transactions involving the sale of limited partner interests and portfolios.
  • Participate in GP-led transactions, including single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles.
  • Support strip sales and tender offers as part of the practice’s GP-led secondaries work.
  • Contribute to GP stakes transactions and investments in management companies.
  • Engage with clients on secondaries matters and work directly with leading practitioners across the practice.
  • Gain exposure to a range of transaction structures and matters described as cutting edge.

What You Bring

  • 3–8 years of legal experience; the search includes law school classes 2018–2023.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability relevant to a secondaries practice.
  • Familiarity with LP-led portfolio sales and the issues involved in those transactions.
  • Familiarity with GP-led transactions, including continuation vehicles, strip sales, or tender offers.
  • Interest or experience in GP stakes and management company investments.
  • Ability to contribute to client-facing work and collaborate directly with leading practitioners.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $260,000–$435,000, with the salary offered based on qualifications and operational considerations; benefits include health care, retirement benefits, paid sick and vacation time, parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary, performance-based bonuses.
