Our client is seeking a finance associate with 3–7 years of experience to join its Business Restructuring & Reorganization team. The role focuses on complex financing and restructuring matters for creditors, borrowers, and financial institutions, including in Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
The Work
- Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, advising on financing and restructuring strategies in special situations.
- Work on debtor-in-possession financings, including matters arising in Chapter 11 proceedings.
- Advise on bankruptcy exit financings and related financing matters as companies emerge from Chapter 11.
- Handle special situations financings and high-profile representations involving top-of-the-capital-structure positions.
- Represent hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
- Contribute to negotiated out-of-court restructuring matters as well as proceedings in Chapter 11 cases.
What You Bring
- Three to seven years of relevant finance experience; candidates in law school classes 2019–2023 are within the stated target range.
- Significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and/or special situations financings.
- Experience with Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
- Ability to advise on financing matters involving distressed or special situations circumstances.
- Experience representing financial institutions, including hedge funds, CLOs, or private equity funds, is relevant to the practice.
- Capacity to contribute to complex, high-profile representations involving top-of-the-capital-structure positions.

Compensation & Benefits
