Position overview

Our client is seeking a finance associate with 3–7 years of experience to join its Business Restructuring & Reorganization team in New York City. The practice represents creditors and borrowers in significant restructuring-related financings and offers associates the opportunity to work on high-profile matters near the top of the capital structure.

The Work

  • Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, working on financing matters arising in restructuring and special situations contexts.
  • Work on debtor-in-possession financings for clients involved in Chapter 11 cases.
  • Participate in bankruptcy exit financings, supporting financing work as companies emerge from Chapter 11.
  • Advise on special situations financings for institutional clients across complex capital structures.
  • Contribute to representations in both Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Work with clients that may include hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.

What You Bring

  • 3–7 years of finance associate experience; candidates in law school class years 2019 through 2023 are sought.
  • Significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions.
  • Significant experience with one or more of DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, or special situations financings.
  • Experience working on matters connected to Chapter 11 cases and/or out-of-court restructurings.
  • Ability to contribute to sophisticated financing representations involving institutional clients and complex capital structures.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $235,000–$390,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations; benefits include health care, retirement benefits, paid sick and vacation time, parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary performance-based bonuses.
