Our client is seeking a finance associate with 3–7 years of experience to join its Business Restructuring & Reorganization team in Washington, DC. The practice handles complex financing and restructuring matters for creditors, borrowers, and sophisticated financial institutions in bankruptcy and out-of-court settings.
The Work
- Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, advising on financing structures and restructuring strategies.
- Work on debtor-in-possession financings in Chapter 11 cases, contributing to matters involving critical financing needs during a bankruptcy proceeding.
- Handle bankruptcy exit financings, supporting financing arrangements connected with a company's emergence from Chapter 11.
- Advise on special situations financings for financial institutions and investment funds.
- Participate in high-profile, top-of-the-capital-structure representations for hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.
- Work across both Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, representing clients in varied restructuring settings.
What You Bring
- Three to seven years of finance or restructuring experience; candidates in law school class years 2019 through 2023 are sought.
- Significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in restructuring and special situations finance matters.
- Experience with liability management transactions.
- Experience with DIP financings and/or bankruptcy exit financings.
- Experience with special situations financings.
- Familiarity with Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
- Ability to advise sophisticated financial clients, including hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual salary range is $235,000–$390,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations, with discretionary performance-based bonuses.
