Position overview

Our client is seeking a Renewable Energy M&A Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join a high-performing team handling sophisticated financing and acquisition matters at the forefront of the energy transition. The practice works with a diverse range of clients on renewable energy projects and strategic corporate transactions.

The Work

  • Support energy infrastructure projects throughout development, construction, financing, acquisition, and disposition, contributing to matters from project planning through transaction execution.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating tax equity financings, tax credit transfers, joint ventures, preferred equity investments, and other project-level capital arrangements.
  • Advise on tax credit monetization strategies for renewable energy and energy transition projects, including solar, wind, battery energy storage, clean hydrogen, and other clean energy technologies.
  • Work with developers, sponsors, tax equity investors, tax credit buyers, and lenders on project financing and investment arrangements.
  • Draft, review, and analyze transaction documents and conduct legal due diligence in connection with energy project matters.
  • Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic corporate transactions for public and private companies across multiple industries.

What You Bring

  • Three to six years of experience as an associate attorney handling relevant transactional work.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability supporting renewable energy or energy infrastructure matters.
  • Familiarity with tax equity financings, tax credit transfers, and tax credit monetization strategies.
  • Ability to assist with structuring and negotiating joint ventures, preferred equity investments, and other project-level capital arrangements.
  • Strong transactional drafting, document review, and legal due diligence capabilities.
  • Experience contributing to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or other strategic corporate transactions.

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated base salary range is $260,000–$390,000, based on the 2026 Cravath base scale; actual firm compensation has not been specified.
