Our client is seeking an associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its New York City team handling sophisticated commercial property investments and transactions. The position offers hands-on responsibility across deal documentation and due diligence, with direct contact involving a broad range of institutional investors and real estate clients.
The Work
- Draft, review, and negotiate joint venture and co-investment agreements for real estate investment matters.
- Support complex acquisitions and dispositions of real estate assets, including negotiating purchase and sale agreements and related ancillary documents.
- Work on debt and equity transactions and real estate financing, including loan agreements and other financing documents.
- Coordinate and oversee due diligence across title, survey, zoning, leasing, financing, and related matters, working with the relevant participants to advance each workstream.
- Prepare and negotiate ancillary agreements, including property management and development management agreements.
- Work with partners and senior associates to represent private equity funds, asset managers, real estate funds, investors, public and private REITs, and investment banks, with direct client contact.
What You Bring
- At least 3–5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience at a large law firm.
- Substantial experience with real estate joint ventures and co-investments, acquisitions and dispositions, and debt and equity or real estate finance matters.
- Ability to draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, loan agreements, financing documents, and ancillary agreements.
- Experience coordinating real estate due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, leasing, and financing review.
- Strong writing and time-management skills, with careful attention to detail.
- Excellent academic credentials and a J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice in New York, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
- Experience using AI technologies responsibly and ethically in legal practice is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The supplied base compensation range is an estimate of $260,000–$365,000 based on the 2026 Cravath scale, not firm-stated compensation.
