Our client, a leading firm in this space, is hiring a junior to midlevel associate into its Alternative Asset Opportunities team in New York. This is not a narrow funds seat. The work sits at the intersection of private fund secondaries, recapitalizations, co-invests, fund structuring, and cross-border transactions across private equity, credit, real estate, venture capital, and infrastructure.
The Work
- Advise sophisticated institutional investors, secondary buyers, sovereign wealth funds, and asset managers on bespoke alternative asset transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, partnership agreements, financing documents, and related deal documents
- Run diligence, assess risk, and help structure transactions from early analysis through closing
- Work closely with tax, regulatory, and litigation colleagues on matters that do not fit neatly into one box
- Handle secondaries, GP-led and other liquidity transactions, fund formation issues, and cross-border deal execution
What You Bring
- 2 to 6 years of law firm experience in alternative assets, secondaries, private funds, fund formation, GP-leds, co-invests, or adjacent investor-side work.
- You should know how to own a workstream, turn documents cleanly, and think commercially.
- Strong drafting matters here.
- So does judgment.
Why Consider It
You will get range.
This group advises across asset classes and works with sophisticated global investors on high-value matters.
You will also get a real platform: a deep investor-side bench, strong cross-office support, and a training culture that puts time into developing associates instead of just using them.
For the right midlevel, this is a strong move if you want broader exposure, better deal reps, and a seat in a practice that is active in the market right now.
