Position overview

Our client is seeking a senior associate with 6+ years of experience to join its Private Equity Group in Redwood City. The role offers work across a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, with opportunities to contribute on teams and manage transaction components independently.

The Work

  • Work on private equity mergers and acquisitions, collaborating with deal teams while taking responsibility for defined components of transactions.
  • Manage transaction workstreams independently, coordinating effectively with internal and external clients and counsel.
  • Contribute to leveraged recapitalizations, applying transactional judgment across matters with differing structures and objectives.
  • Handle growth equity and venture capital transactions, including work connected to exits.
  • Advise on equity compensation matters as part of a broad corporate and transactional practice.
  • Build and maintain productive client and counsel relationships through proactive communication and thoughtful matter management.

What You Bring

  • At least 6 years of relevant legal experience, including experience in private equity and corporate transactions.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of deal teams and independently managing components of transactions.
  • Experience across a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity and venture capital transactions, exits, and equity compensation.
  • Proactive approach and strong business sense in managing transaction responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships effectively.
