Our client is seeking a Private Equity M&A associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Private Equity Group in New York City. The position involves a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, with opportunities to contribute as part of deal teams and to manage components of transactions independently.
The Work
- Work on mergers and acquisitions for private equity clients, contributing to transactions as part of a team and taking ownership of assigned components.
- Assist with leveraged recapitalizations, managing transaction responsibilities independently as appropriate to experience.
- Contribute to growth equity transactions, supporting the range of corporate and transactional matters handled by the group.
- Work on venture capital transactions and exits, with exposure to multiple transaction types within the practice.
- Handle matters involving equity compensation as part of the group's broader transactional work.
- Manage relationships and communications with internal and external clients and counsel throughout assigned work.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of experience in private equity and corporate transactional work.
- Experience across a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience working collaboratively on deal teams and managing components of transactions independently.
- Familiarity with leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity, venture capital transactions, exits, and equity compensation.
- A proactive approach, strong business sense, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external clients and counsel.

Compensation & Benefits
