Position overview

Our client is seeking a private equity associate with at least three years of experience to join its Washington, DC team, with a strong focus on asset management M&A and a preference for experience with GP stakes transactions. The role offers a mix of collaborative deal work and individual responsibility for transaction components.

The Work

  • Work on asset management mergers and acquisitions, including GP stakes transactions, with responsibility for independently managing assigned components of deals.
  • Collaborate with deal teams while taking proactive ownership of discrete transaction work and helping move matters forward.
  • Contribute to leveraged recapitalizations, applying broader corporate and transactional experience across the group's work.
  • Work on growth equity and venture capital transactions, including exits, across a range of transaction stages.
  • Handle equity compensation matters as part of a broad corporate and transactional practice.
  • Manage relationships and communications with internal and external clients and counsel throughout transaction work.

What You Bring

  • At least three years of associate-level experience in private equity and corporate or transactional matters.
  • Strong experience in asset management M&A is required; GP stakes transaction experience is preferred.
  • Experience across mergers and acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity, venture capital transactions and exits, and equity compensation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on teams and independently manage components of transactions.
  • Proactive approach, strong business sense, and stellar communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external clients and counsel.
