Our client is seeking a private equity M&A associate with 3+ years of experience to join its Private Equity Group in New York City. Strong asset management M&A experience is required, and experience with GP stakes transactions is preferred.
The Work
- Work with deal teams on asset management M&A transactions, contributing collaboratively while independently managing assigned components of each matter.
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, taking ownership of transaction workstreams and coordinating with internal and external clients and counsel.
- Support leveraged recapitalizations, including the corporate and transactional work involved in structuring and executing these matters.
- Work on growth equity and venture capital transactions, including investments and exits.
- Handle equity compensation matters as part of a broad corporate and transactional practice.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and internal colleagues through clear communication and proactive matter management.
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of experience in private equity or related corporate transactional practice.
- Strong experience in asset management M&A is required.
- Experience with GP stakes transactions is preferred.
- Broad background in corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently manage components of transactions.
- Proactive approach, strong business sense, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage relationships with internal and external clients and counsel.
