Position overview

Our client is seeking a Private Client Services Associate with 4–6 years of relevant experience to join a national group serving individuals and families on sophisticated trust, estate, and tax matters. The Chicago opportunity offers exposure to a varied practice spanning planning, administration, and tax controversy.

The Work

  • Assist individuals and families with sophisticated estate and tax planning, including planning involving business interests, art, and other unusual assets.
  • Support the creation and administration of family offices and contribute to the private-client planning and administrative work they require.
  • Handle trust administration matters, including work involving the decanting and modification of trusts.
  • Contribute to the administration of complex estates and related planning matters.
  • Analyze complex transfer-tax issues as part of estate and tax planning engagements.
  • Work on tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service.

What You Bring

  • Four to six years of relevant transactional experience in trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Experience working on sophisticated trust and estate matters for individuals and families.
  • Strong knowledge of estate and tax planning and trust or estate administration.
  • Ability to analyze complex transfer-tax issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • An LL.M. in tax is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $365,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and experience, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental and vision insurance, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family-care benefits.
