Position overview

Our client is seeking a midlevel associate with 4–6 years of relevant transactional experience in trust and estate planning and administration to join its Private Client Services Group. The role is listed in Seattle, and the search is open across multiple offices. The group advises individuals and families on sophisticated planning, administration, and tax matters.

The Work

  • Assist individuals and families with sophisticated estate and tax planning, including planning involving business interests, art, and other unusual assets.
  • Work on the creation and administration of family offices as part of broader private-client planning matters.
  • Handle trust administration matters, including trust decanting and modification.
  • Assist with the administration of complex estates and related planning considerations.
  • Analyze complex transfer-tax issues arising in estate and trust planning and administration.
  • Contribute to tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service.

What You Bring

  • 4–6 years of relevant transactional experience in trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience relevant to private-client planning and administration, including trusts, estates, or transfer-tax matters.
  • An LL.M. in tax is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Stated annual compensation is $365,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and experience, and the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental and vision insurance, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family-care benefits.
