Position overview

Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial associate to join a growing privacy, cybersecurity, and data innovation practice in Washington, DC. The role is designed for an attorney with 3–7 years of substantive experience advising technology companies or working on privacy, cybersecurity, and related matters.

The Work

  • Advise leading global platforms and disruptive technology companies on critical privacy, cybersecurity, and technology-related regulatory, product, and business strategies.
  • Support clients in regulatory matters and disputes, contributing to strategy and execution across a range of complex issues.
  • Counsel technology companies on privacy and cybersecurity matters, with opportunities to engage directly with clients on their business and product needs.
  • Contribute to government investigations and related litigation involving privacy, cybersecurity, or technology-company issues.
  • Assist with incident response and crisis management matters, helping clients address urgent and sensitive developments.
  • Work on Federal Trade Commission consumer protection-related matters and issues involving online platform regulation.

What You Bring

  • Three to seven years of substantive experience at a leading law firm.
  • Experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and/or representing technology companies.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Experience counseling clients on privacy, cybersecurity, or technology-related issues.
  • Experience with government investigations and related litigation is valuable.
  • Experience with incident response and crisis management is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Federal Trade Commission consumer protection matters or online platform regulation is desirable.
  • Ability to contribute collaboratively while handling sophisticated client and business issues.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $310,000–$420,000, based on qualifications and other operational considerations, with health care, retirement benefits, paid sick and vacation time, parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary performance-based bonuses.
