Our client is seeking an associate with at least one year of experience to join its Supreme Court and Appellate practice in Redwood City. The role offers substantive work on high-stakes appeals, consequential trial-court motions, and legal strategy across a wide range of issues and industries.
The Work
- Help develop and advance high-stakes appeals in federal and state appellate courts, contributing to persuasive advocacy across jurisdictions.
- Work on key trial-court motions and legal strategy, including collaborating with trial teams to frame and preserve issues for potential appeal.
- Assist with petitions for certiorari and merits briefs in matters before the US Supreme Court, as well as briefs in federal and state appellate courts.
- Contribute to amicus briefing and cases involving novel or challenging administrative-law questions, including litigation against the US government.
- Support complex disputes involving a range of cutting-edge issues, including copyright and class-action matters.
- Work on consequential matters for clients across industries, with opportunities to contribute to high-profile pro bono cases.
What You Bring
- At least one year of relevant legal experience.
- Completed appellate clerkship required.
- Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
- Ability to contribute to appellate briefing, including certiorari, merits, or amicus work.
- Interest or experience in appellate litigation; prior appellate litigation experience at a law firm or in government service is welcomed.
- Capacity to collaborate with trial teams on litigation strategy and issue preservation.
