Our client is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Chicago patent litigation team. The practice handles sophisticated patent disputes, representing clients in both offensive and defensive matters and helping them address complex cases in a commercially focused and cost-conscious way.
The Work
- Assist in representing clients in offensive and defensive patent litigation, including disputes between competitors and cases brought by non-practicing entities.
- Contribute to matters involving patents and commercially valuable technology, with attention to the business goals underlying clients’ intellectual property.
- Work on disputes involving clients in telecommunications, computer software and hardware, financial services, and manufacturing.
- Help clients navigate complex patent cases and develop cost-effective approaches to litigation.
- Engage with technology-intensive matters alongside a team that includes lawyers with engineering and scientific backgrounds.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of experience, consistent with a junior- or mid-level associate role.
- Experience or a strong practice background in patent litigation.
- Familiarity with offensive and defensive patent disputes, including competitor litigation and non-practicing entity claims.
- Ability to work with complex technology and patent issues across industries such as telecommunications, software, hardware, financial services, or manufacturing.
- Interest in addressing litigation in light of clients’ business objectives and the commercial value of their ideas and technology.

Compensation & Benefits
