Position overview

Our client is seeking a Patent Associate with 1–4 years of law-firm patent prosecution experience to join its Boulder practice. The role is focused on life sciences patent prosecution and requires patent bar membership, an advanced degree, and a scientific background in a relevant discipline.

The Work

  • Contribute to patent prosecution matters, drawing on prior experience in a law-firm patent prosecution practice.
  • Bring scientific training in a life sciences or digital health-focused discipline to patent prosecution work.
  • Apply relevant technical knowledge across areas such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, bioengineering, or biophysics.
  • Use strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in connection with patent prosecution work.

What You Bring

  • One to four years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm.
  • Membership in the patent bar.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline.
  • A background in one or more of the following: cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, bioengineering, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or a digital health-focused discipline.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Prior patent agent experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $225,000–$310,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
