Our client is seeking a Patent Associate with 1-4 years of law-firm patent prosecution experience to join its Austin, Texas team. Candidates should bring patent bar membership, an advanced degree, and a technical background in life sciences or a related field.
The Work
- Contribute to patent prosecution work, drawing on 1-4 years of prior patent prosecution experience in a law-firm setting.
- Apply advanced technical training to patent matters involving fields such as cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, and bioengineering.
- Bring relevant expertise in chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, bioinformatics, or digital-health-focused disciplines to the prosecution practice.
- Use strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in carrying out work within a patent prosecution role.
What You Bring
- 1-4 years of patent prosecution experience at a law firm.
- Membership in the patent bar.
- An advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
- A background in cell or molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, bioengineering, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, pharmacology, biophysics, or a digital-health-focused discipline.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior academic credentials.
- Prior patent agent experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The role offers a stated salary range of $225,000-$310,000, based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
