Our client is seeking an employment litigator to join a collaborative Portland team advising and representing regional and national employers in sophisticated disputes and day-to-day workplace counseling. This position offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to matters that can advance through trial.
The Work
- Represent employers in state and federal court disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, leave, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenants.
- Manage cases across the litigation lifecycle, from pleadings and written discovery through depositions, motions practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other litigation filings, and develop strategic legal analysis on employment law issues.
- Counsel employer clients on day-to-day workplace questions and risk mitigation, with direct opportunities to build client relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups on complex, fast-paced matters for regional and national clients across multiple industries.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, mentor junior attorneys, and support a positive, team-oriented practice.
What You Bring
- At least five years of employment litigation experience in a law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department.
- Experience handling employment-related disputes in state and federal courts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and draft dispositive motions.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, including the ability to prepare persuasive litigation filings.
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and provide strong client service.
- Oregon bar admission is preferred; candidates not admitted in Oregon should be willing to seek admission promptly.

Compensation & Benefits
The firm-stated salary range is $265,000–$315,000, with comprehensive benefits and potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
