Position overview

Our client is expanding its Los Angeles team and seeks an associate with 4–8 years of experience to advise innovative businesses and investment funds. The practice works with companies throughout their lifecycle, from formation and financing to mergers and acquisitions, serving clients from newly formed startups to multi-billion-dollar technology market leaders.

The Work

  • Advise innovative companies on business formation and the legal needs that arise as they develop and grow.
  • Work on financing transactions for companies at different stages, including newly formed startups and established technology businesses.
  • Represent companies in mergers and acquisitions, contributing to transactions across a varied client base.
  • Support funds that invest in innovative companies, gaining exposure to the investor side of the business lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external clients and counsel while working closely with experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters at a national level.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of relevant experience; experience at a comparable law firm is preferred.
  • Experience with emerging companies and venture capital matters, including company formation, financing transactions, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quantitative skills and proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships effectively.
  • Strong academic credentials and references.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual salary range is $310,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and experience; the position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, 401(k), medical, dental and vision insurance, personal medical and parental leave, paid holidays, and family care benefits.
