Position overview

Our client is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Dallas team. Counsel candidates are also welcome. The employer-side practice handles employment litigation, wage-and-hour class and collective actions, and complex mass arbitration matters for domestic and international employers across a range of industries.

The Work

  • Assist in defending wage-and-hour class and collective actions by managing discovery, interviewing witnesses, and preparing briefing on class certification issues.
  • Handle meaningful portions of single-plaintiff employment cases in state and federal courts and arbitration, including taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and drafting dispositive motions.
  • Support complex mass arbitration matters by helping manage high volumes of individual claims, develop defense strategy, and coordinate responses across multiple forums.
  • Represent employers in administrative hearings and proceedings, including responding to charges filed with the EEOC and state agencies and drafting responses to demand letters.
  • Work with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy while assuming increasing ownership of matters and communicating directly with clients.
  • Work on disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, restrictive covenants, and wage-and-hour issues.
  • Contribute to defense efforts involving off-the-clock work, meal and rest break, employee misclassification, and notice claims across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, health care, financial services, food and beverage, and consumer products.

What You Bring

  • Three to six years of relevant labor and employment experience; counsel candidates are also welcome to apply.
  • Experience with employer-side employment litigation and a working understanding of state and federal court proceedings and arbitration.
  • Ability to manage discovery, conduct witness interviews, and take or defend depositions.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, including experience drafting motions and briefing class certification issues.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability in wage-and-hour class actions, FLSA collective actions, or representative actions.
  • Ability to contribute to complex, high-volume arbitration matters and coordinate defense work across multiple claims or forums.
  • Experience responding to EEOC or state agency charges, handling administrative proceedings, or drafting demand-letter responses is relevant.
  • Sound judgment, collaborative working style, and ability to communicate effectively with clients and legal teams.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $310,000–$390,000, with hours and merit bonus opportunities, excellent benefits, and billable-hours credit for pro bono work.
