Position overview

Our client is seeking a 4–8 year associate to join its San Francisco Private Equity / Corporate M&A group. The attorney will advise private equity funds, portfolio companies, and corporate clients on transactions and general corporate matters, with direct client contact and meaningful responsibility for managing matters.

The Work

  • Advise private equity funds, their portfolio companies, and corporate clients in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, and minority investments.
  • Support and manage corporate M&A transactions, contributing to deal execution and the day-to-day management of matters.
  • Counsel clients on general corporate matters as part of an active Private Equity / Corporate M&A practice.
  • Work directly with clients, take ownership of matters with a high degree of independence, and help develop client relationships.
  • Coordinate transaction work for a range of clients, including private equity funds, portfolio companies, and other corporate clients.

What You Bring

  • Four to eight years of corporate legal experience.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law and deal management.
  • Experience advising on acquisitions, dispositions, and minority investments.
  • Ability to support and manage corporate transactions and related matters.
  • Experience or capability advising private equity funds, portfolio companies, and corporate clients.
  • Strong client-service skills and readiness for direct client contact.
  • Ability to manage matters with a high degree of independence.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $260,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.
