Our client is seeking an associate with 4–7 years of experience in private equity M&A, including experience representing energy and infrastructure sponsors, to join its energy and infrastructure M&A practice in Houston. The role offers sophisticated, cross-disciplinary work combining corporate transactions and project finance across energy, infrastructure, power, and renewables.
The Work
- Advise private equity sponsors, project developers, funds, utilities, and infrastructure owners and operators on complex acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Lead and support infrastructure M&A transactions across sectors, participating in execution from the bid process through closing.
- Represent energy and infrastructure private equity sponsors in transactions involving the infrastructure, energy, power, and renewables sectors.
- Work on joint ventures and other strategic arrangements, including structuring and executing transactions involving infrastructure and energy assets.
- Support project-financing-related transactions as part of a practice that combines project finance with corporate M&A.
- Collaborate across transaction types and sectors while taking an active role in advancing matters for a diverse range of sponsor, developer, fund, utility, and operating-company clients.
What You Bring
- Four to seven years of experience practicing M&A law.
- Experience in private equity M&A, including representing energy and infrastructure private equity sponsors.
- Experience advising on complex acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, or other strategic transactions.
- Ability to lead and support transaction execution from bid process through closing.
- Experience or familiarity with project-financing-related transactions.
- Interest or experience in the infrastructure, energy, power, or renewables sectors.
- Ability to work across corporate M&A and project finance matters.

Compensation & Benefits
The firm-stated annual compensation range is $310,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and other operational considerations.
